The modern city of Almeria (like many other modern cities) is built near the battlements of an ancient castle. The towers of the old castle can be seen in the background. They were built for defense. The modern towers in the foreground were built for comfort. Is there a parable there for us perhaps? Maybe something about modern apathy and unpreparedness?
